NMUN

Recently I attended NMUN (National Model United Nations) simulation in NYC. It was the best experience of my life – a WEEK free from school work and free to do as we wish as long as we completed our work. It was more of an insight into the real world, than college, I say this only because you are expected to fully imerse yourself into the life of a United Nations Delegate. Waking up at 7 or 8 am and working till the wee hours of the morning and wearing professional dress (blazer, dress pants, professional skirt, all the power outfits you could possibly think of) and last but not least working with people from around with world. Gahhhh it was the best experience of my life.

Funny thing is when I was leaving and people asked what the program was I found it extremely difficult to explain to them what the United Nations was and did, what the program was for and this was an eye opener to the number of people who are to limited to what they see and know here in the states and I feel that this is extremely unfortunate and so I thought it only appropriate to provide a description of what NMUN is 🙂 along with some photos

World’s Largest College-level Model UN
NMUN•NY brings 5,000+ delegates from five continents to New York City annually. This preeminent conference simulates 20 committees selected to engage students in discussions of current global issues. The UN Headquarters provide an impressive backdrop.
